The Excelsior, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Florence

“We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Excelsior Florence. The location is perfect—close to all the main attractions while still being quiet and relaxing. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of fresh options. Traveling with a child, we really appreciated how welcoming and accommodating the hotel was for families. Highly recommend, and we would definitely stay here again!”

“We are avid travelers and tend to stay in the more higher end luxury hotels. This hotel exceeded expectations in every way! It was luxurious in every way possible! The beds were the most comfortable beds I’ve ever experience in a hotel, pillows too! The hotel was in a central, yet quiet, location making it the best choice for us! Staff were the nicest I have very experienced from a hotel! We really enjoyed our stay! Be sure to not miss the free wine hour and also get local recommendations from Francesca and the concierge. They were wonderfully helpful! Fantastic stay! We would stay again!”

“Imagine a place of spectacular beauty where the rooms are luxuriously appointed and meticulous and the entire staff delights in meeting your every need. Emanuele, Alessio, Iacopo and Leonardo were especially helpful on the fabulous concierge team. With a sincere smile, they opened doors, hailed cabs, took care of luggage, offered water and mapped out routes to tremendous restaurants, unforgettable museums and churches and shopping for the leather and jewelry treasures of Florence. Leonardo, after hearing that we needed to leave for our flight at 3 AM, asked what kind of coffee we drank and made it and delivered it at 2:30 AM! Where do you get service like that? Each day we enjoyed a breakfast which offered incredible baked goods, cereals, made-to-order omelets and Benedictine eggs, seasonal vegetables, bacon, cereals and yogurt and a vast array of fresh fruits, meats, fish, cheeses and juices too numerous to list. It’s important for me to note that Elisa, Flavio, Eva, Laura, and others were swift to offer service that made us grateful to start the day with them. Laura welcomed us each day and kept things running smoothly. Adding to the epitome of service was a young lady who probably spent half an hour with us recommending sites to see and explaining three different options for a Chianti vineyard tour that we had expressed interest in. Following that time, she left a note in our room expressing her delight in meeting us. I can’t believe that I forgot her name because she was unforgettable. It may have been Francesca. Ludmilla kept our room spotless and seemed to add little details each day that showcased her thoughtfulness. There’s so much more… the note and bottle of Chablis that welcomed us, the turn down service with chocolates and the olive oil on the last night to take home a bit of Florence and to beckon us to return. “The roof top bar is a must for a cocktail and snack. Fabulous views of Florence work inside and outside seating. Preference is given to hotel guests, this is evident right from the front of house. In the end they will accommodate you.”
